Springboard Volunteering Opportunities

Springboard is looking for volunteers to help us continue our vital work, nurturing unemployed young and disadvantaged people to improve their hospitality career prospects.

COVID-19 has had a significant impact on all our lives and on the economy. The hospitality industry – and its people – have been amongst the hardest hit. The crisis has also had a devastating impact on the charity sector, with income disappearing overnight, whilst the need for our services has become greater than ever. As a result, we’ve had to quickly reinvent delivery models to overcome the challenges of social distancing, all whilst managing with a lack of resource and reduced workforce.

Adapting our support

COVID-19 has had a significant impact on all our lives and on the economy. The hospitality industry – and its people – have been amongst the hardest hit. The crisis has also had a devastating impact on the charity sector, with income disappearing overnight, whilst the need for our services has become greater than ever. As a result, we’ve had to quickly reinvent delivery models to overcome the challenges of social distancing, all whilst managing with a lack of resource and reduced workforce. In response to the COVID-19 crisis, we have, so far, made more than 40 of our knowledge, skills and training modules available online. These modules have been specifically designed to support and motivate our trainees at this incredibly challenging time. They include introductory training for qualifications, practical skills and techniques, CV writing, interview skills, resilience, confidence and mindfulness. Our team are also using online tools including webinars and social media to ensure they are available to offer 1-2-1 support and advice, including interview practice, to our current trainees. But we need your help to continue.

Volunteers needed

With our adapted offering, we continue to provide crucial support services to current trainees who worked hard to graduate from one of our pioneering and award-winning employability programmes.
The individuals should have already entered a fulfilling hospitality career hospitality, but many have been left struggling to cope without an income and need us, more than ever, to keep them engaged and motivated.
