Springboard Programme: Trusthouse Destination Hospitality

My name is Sarah Greer and I’m looking for part time work so my employment officer at Orchardville referred me to Springboard to find out about jobs in hospitality.

Before attending the Trusthouse programme with Springboard, I was a very anxious person, had very low self-esteem which got worse as a result of the pandemic.

My favourite part of the programme was going on site visits to see the different types of businesses and learn about the different roles in hospitality.  I have gained so much confidence and enjoyed working with others in a team to complete team activities.

This programme has made me realise what I can actually do, and that I would like to work as part of a team in the hospitality industry, in a front of house role.

I have really come out of my comfort zone and challenged myself and now feel ready to get into work.

I felt it was very worthwhile course and it definitely helped me build on my skills and helped me get a job.

I am now a Food and Beverage Assistant in The Bobbin Café, in Belfast.
