Springboard Programme: Trusthouse Destination Hospitality

After unfortunately being unemployed for eight years due to ill health, I found myself in the very fortunate position of being signposted to The Springboard Charity to take part in one of their Trusthouse employability programmes. It was honestly the best thing I have ever done as I was exposed, guided, and supported to so many new and exciting career opportunities.

I obtained the industry accredited WorldHost qualification in customer service as well as so many transferrable skills. All this led me to be introduced to the Exec Chef of a hotel at which I’ve now been offered a job as an apprentice Commis Chef and starting a career in which, I never thought possible.

I’m extremely happy and would highly recommend Springboard to anyone. Being nervous doesn’t start to explain how I felt before the course, but those nerves soon left me after meeting the great bunch of people on the course. The trainers were fantastic and even now, after the course, they remain in touch providing any employability support I need – just amazing! I couldn’t have asked for better mentoring and support to ‘guide me through’.

I would highly recommend Springboard to anyone as it has changed my life for the better and would do it over again in a heartbeat!
