“Before joining the programme with Springboard, I had just finished school and completed my GCSE exams. The hard work and study for these exams improved my skills and taught me how to manage my time well. I discovered the Springboard programme through Facebook. The information and successful stories shared on their page caught my interest, leading me to explore further. The positive feedback and detailed posts about the program’s benefits convinced me to join.
The programme appealed to me as I was seeking a clear career pathway and felt that the structured guidance provided by the springboard programme would help me navigate my future professional goals. Another reason is that I have always been interested in the hospitality industry, and wanted to gain a deeper understanding of its various aspects. The programmes focus on hospitality aligned perfectly with my interests. I was also looking for part time work opportunities to gain practical experience and support myself financially while continuing my education.
During the programme, I engaged in a variety of activities designed to enhance my employability skills. I participated in teamwork exercises, learned about careers in the hospitality, leisure, and tourism sectors, and gained hands-on experience in event management. Additionally, I attended workshops on CV building and took part in mock interviews to improve my job application skills. The programme also included industry visits and activities that provided valuable insights into real-world operations. Furthermore, I completed several FLOW modules, which offered in-depth training on key industry topics.
What I enjoyed most about the programme was that each day for the activities we went to different hospitality businesses, I think that this was most fun as it also allowed us to see how different places of hospitality work and how they manage their place. In future I would encourage others to take part in this programme. I think it helped me gain new skills and a lot of understanding of how the world of work is. Overall, I really enjoyed the course and would recommend everyone that needs help with employment to take part as I believe it will help. I would rate the programme a 10/10 and would do it all again.”
