Springboard Programme: Trusthouse Destination Hospitality

Through the Trusthouse Destination Hospitality course, I have learnt new skills and achieved WorldHost training in customer service.  I got to improve on my CV and interview techniques and by doing so I gained a great amount of confidence and even attended a mock interview.  There was always someone there to help you.

I have previously worked part time in retail, in a clothes shop, but now that I have finished school, I wanted to see what other jobs are out there.  My work coach at the job centre said this would be a great course for me so I thought I’d give it a go.

I was nervous beforehand as I’ve just turned 18 and had to travel 85 miles to attend this programme.

There was so much of the course that I enjoyed, it’s hard to pinpoint but the cocktail making session was fantastic.  I also enjoyed the site visits and the confidence and mindfulness workshops.  This has been such a beneficial programme as it has really opened my eyes to the hospitality industry and given me opportunities I otherwise wouldn’t have had.

Now, thanks to Springboard, I have been offered a job in Revolucion De Cuba as a bar person.
