Smart, simple ways to boost your fundraising and make an impact for Springboard.
Whether you’re new to fundraising or looking to take your efforts to the next level, these tips will help you reach your goals – and have fun doing it!
1. Set a Clear Goal
People are more likely to donate when they know what you’re aiming for. Choose a realistic target and explain how their support will help.
“I’m aiming to raise £250 to support Springboard’s training programmes for young people.”
2. Make it Personal
Share your story. Why are you fundraising? Do you have a personal connection to Springboard’s mission? A heartfelt message or short video can go a long way.
3. Use Social Media Smartly
Social media is one of the most powerful fundraising tools – here’s how to use it well:
Add Your Link Everywhere
- Bio on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn
- Link stickers in Instagram Stories
- Pinned post on X (Twitter) or Facebook
- Email signature and WhatsApp status
Use Video
- Share your journey with selfie videos
- Behind-the-scenes clips (training, prepping, events)
- Thank-you videos to donors
Post Regular Updates
- Track your progress (e.g. “Halfway there!”)
- Share fun moments, challenges, or bloopers
- Tell people how their donations are making a difference
Tag & Thank Supporters
Always thank and tag donors (if they’re happy with that). It helps build momentum and inspires others to give.
Create Urgency
Use countdowns and reminders:
“Just £40 to go – can you help me get there by Friday?”
“Only 2 days left – every pound counts!”
Ask Others to Share
Get your network involved – friends, family, colleagues. When they share your page, you reach even more people.
4. Ask Clearly and Confidently
Don’t be shy. People want to help – you just have to ask!
“I’m raising money for Springboard – would you consider donating £5 to help me reach my goal?”
5. Keep the Momentum Going
- Celebrate milestones (e.g. “£100 raised – thank you!”)
- Update your audience regularly
- Share success stories from Springboard to show impact
6. Think Outside the Box
Choose something that fits your personality or skills:
- Great at baking? Host a cake sale
- Love TikTok? Start a challenge
- Got connections? Try a charity raffle or auction
7. Use a Trusted Fundraising Platform
Set up your page on JustGiving and select Springboard – it’s secure, simple, and easy to track.
8. Choose the Right Timing
Avoid holiday lulls. Link your fundraiser to a special event, awareness week, or personal milestone to boost interest.
9. Celebrate Your Success
Once you reach your goal, share your final total and thank everyone. Let them know how their support made a difference.
“Together we raised £500 for Springboard – enough to support two people through our full training and job placement programme!”
These tips work whether you’re fundraising solo, with a team, at work, or in your community. Every pound raised brings someone closer to a brighter future in hospitality.
