1. What does it mean to be a Springboard Ambassador?
Springboard Ambassadors make a real difference in people’s lives. From secondary school to college or even university students, to unemployed people and those facing barriers to employment.
There are different types of Springboard Ambassadors, depending on your skill set, experience, how you want to support and your desired outcomes. Most Springboard Ambassadors take on several Ambassador roles at once, others prefer to focus on just one type.
Springboard Ambassador:
Springboard Ambassadors are champions of the industry, in place to promote the industry as a great place to work and an amazing choice of career.
Springboard Ambassador Champion:
Ambassador Champions are exceptional Springboard Ambassadors, incredibly passionate about the hospitality industry, and with a prolific volunteering record as Springboard Ambassadors and/or accomplished influencers.
Springboard FutureChef Ambassador:
FutureChef ambassadors are typically chefs. They support some or all elements of the programme:
- Mentor Students
- Judging Local / Regional Finals of Springboard FutureChef Competition
- Shape and develop the digital platform through videos and support with modules
- Online judging Springboard FutureChef Juniors competitions.
- Sharing your knowledge, skills and career through our Culinary Careers Sessions
Influencer/Digital Ambassador (social media): Influencer Ambassadors make the most of networking platforms (such as LinkedIn) and other social media using it to:
- Share best practice
- Raise your profile
- Support the work of Springboard
All helping to raise the profile of the industry.
2. How much does it cost to become a Springboard Ambassador?

3. What is the time commitment?
There is no time commitment. As a Springboard Ambassador you have the flexibility to choose how and when you want to support. We do encourage our Ambassador to complete a minimum of 3 activities per year. We suggest you start with the induction session. This takes place Every last Friday of the month at 1.30. 5. What type of activities can I support?
Springboard Ambassadors are champions of the industry, in place to promote the industry as a great place to work and an excellent choice of career.
You can offer support in several ways, including:
- Within our Employability programmes; CV reviews, Mock Interviews, Guest Speaking, etc…
- Creating important links between Schools and Colleges, Local Community Groups, and Jobs and Benefits offices.
- Mentoring or Judging at our Springboard FutureChef Competition
- Online Social Presence – sharing and interacting with our posts, or with posts within the industry
- Providing Testimonials or Case Studies
- Getting involved with fundraising events
6. Is there an induction?
Yes. We do encourage all new Ambassadors to join our drop-in sessions for new Ambassadors – Every last Friday of the month at 1.30. It’s an opportunity to ask any questions. I will briefly explain how to navigate the portal, access your training and how to support our programmes and events – access here.
(Normally last 30min or less)
7. What training is available?
There are 4 FREE Ambassador modules. Mod 1: Introduction to Springboard, Mod 2: Social Media, Mod 3: Creating a Case study, Mod 4: Presentation Skills
When you register as an Ambassador you receive an email to set up your FLOW/MAPAL One account to access your training.
8. Are there any additional support materials for Ambassadors?
Yes. Log in to the Ambassador portal here. Go to “Ambassador tools” and explore all our resources and documents.
9. How do I get started?
Log in to the Ambassador portal here, and start exploring “courses” & “events” you can support.

10. How will I know what activities to support?
There are a number of ways we stay in touch, but it is up to you to tell us how you wish to support us, depending on your availability:
Biweekly mailer (every other Friday). You will receive this from: ambassadors@springboarduk.org.uk. Please save this email address to ensure our emails are not sent to your spam folder.
Ambassador portal (you can explore resources (including for social media, an ambassador badge/email footer), and “events” you can support with).
You may also send you occasional targeted emails.
