  • Obituaries: Chris Kidd 12 Aug 2019

We were extremely saddened to hear the tragic news that Lucknam Park’s Restaurant Manager and Springboard Ambassador, Chris Kidd, passed away last Thursday, following a car accident a few weeks ago. We have lost an inspirational individual who loved the work he did with Springboard working with the students and promoting hospitality careers, it was a part of his job that he was really enthusiastic about and inspired a lot of students through visits to Lucknam, and careers presentations and events he attended – he made a difference to people’s lives and was a massively positive influence to his team and young people.  Our sincere condolences go out to his family and his colleagues at this very difficult time.

The 11 graduates, whose countries of origin include Algeria, Eritrea, Iran, Russia and Sudan, were...

The night was hosted by renowned comedian Ian Moore, who led us through 19 awards across three categories. The evening rewarded the fantastic initiatives, unbreakable resolve and unbeatable talent of those nominated for the awards. With just under 500 people in attendance, the delicious three course meal was enjoyed by all – with halloumi and vegetable tabbouleh for the starter, Madeira chicken with roasted vegetable for the main and a raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake for dessert – all followed by coffee and petit fours. The wine – sponsored by Conviviality - flowed the entire evening, and was enjoyed by many. The awards were divided into three categories – Promoting Careers, Attracting and Developing People, and Best Employment Practice. Each category addresses a particular issue the industry faces, aiming to create a solid bedrock for the...
