News from 2017
An indulgent evening at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons has raised over £30,000 for The Springboard Charity.
World renowned chef Raymond Blanc OBE served fine cuisine on 15th February 2017 in the breath-taking surroundings of Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons at an exclusive Springboard event. £20,000 was raised from the auction alone thanks to generous Springboard supporters. The amazing amount raised will contribute to Springboard’s range of programmes, supporting even more people into careers in hospitality, leisure and tourism.
Anne Pierce, Springboard’s CEO, commented: “We raised a spectacular amount from one night and this will make a huge difference to lives through Springboard’s IntoWork programmes, helping 25 more people. Thank you to Raymond, everyone at Belmond Le Manoir, and everyone who joined us and gave so generously. Every bit of generosity makes a difference and the Springboard team hope to see everyone who attended at future events!”
Jan-Paul Kroese, General Manager of Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, and Raymond Blanc OBE, said: "Raymond and I are honored to support a charity that helps the lives of young people achieve their potential in life by giving them the valuable skills that are needed for careers in hospitality, leisure and tourism. The evening was a great success and we are delighted to be a part of this worthy cause."
The funds raised will help people like Fin, who was struggling to find work and was suffering from depression, having lost all his confidence. After hearing about the Diageo Learning for Life programme, he made the most of the opportunity and really benefitted from the mentoring it provided. After the programme boosted his confidence, he attained bar work at Red Door in Liverpool. He now hopes to one day run his own bar.
“I secured a job at one of the best bars in Liverpool and I’m loving it. Springboard helped bring back my confidence and I feel I can do anything. They helped me mentally against my depression and this stopped me being sick all the time. I really enjoyed the programme and feel it has made a huge difference to my life.” – Fin, Diageo Learning for Life
