Velo Challenge 2019

on .

Springboard’s famous cycling challenge is back once again September 2019 – with two versions of the epic London to Paris cycle for you to choose from.

Team Velo is a group cycle in teams of four, taking a more leisurely route from London to Paris, whilst Velo24 is a more challenging 24hour trip between the two major cities.

With challengers from across the UK hospitality industry, Velo Challenge is a great opportunity to network with the sector, build unbreakable relationships within a team and raise money for The Springboard Charity.

Velo Challenge is sponsored by Sky and Genuine Dining.

Team Velo – Springboard’s group cycle challenge – returns this September!

Between 26 September 2019 - 28 September 2019, cyclists will cover over 250 miles from London to Paris, all in aid of Springboard’s programmes and charitable work.

Starting in the UK capital, the challengers will make their way down to Portsmouth, before taking an overnight ferry to Caen. From there, cyclists will cycle down to Le Neubourg where they’ll be treated to a BBQ feast to replenish their strength – all courtesy of The Genuine Dining Co.

Finally, the challengers will cycle to the stunning city of Paris, for a prize ceremony under the glistening September sun and post-event party.

Team Velo is a fantastic opportunity to network with fellow industry professionals and, as you enter as a team of four, build strong relationships within your business and with colleagues.

If you’re looking for something even more thrilling, then there’s our Velo 24 – a test of physical and mental endurance which sees our cyclists head from London to Paris in just 24 hours with the challenge running between 27 – 28 September 2019.

You will leave London mid-afternoon and cycle to New Haven Ferry Port to board an night ferry. This ferry then arrives in Dieppe early morning, after which you will cycle the remaining distance to Paris – meeting up with the other cyclists from the Team Velo, ready for the post challenge party and award ceremony.

Why we're doing this?

All the money raised will go towards our Hospitality Futures programme, which helps young people and those with multiple barriers to work to gain the skills, confidence and qualifications necessary to flourish within hospitality. Last year alone, Springboard successfully helped 92 people to turn their lives around.
