binäre optionen indikatoren After embarking on a trek and community challenge to Nepal in 2014, Springboard once again returned to Nepal to make a difference following the devastating earthquake in 2015.
binära optioner fake Thirty trekkers had the opportunity to both support the Manju Shree School and Lura Village community in Nepal, alongside Springboard’s work in the UK. The trek and community challenge was no easy feat, with five days of tough trekking following three days of hard labour at the school. Work on the school ensured it was restored after the 2015 earthquake, while the trekkers also produced a feast for the local community, along with a sports day.
Sildenafil Citrate för män billigt David Kinder, Head of Food at Bidfood, who joined the trek commented: “The trek was an opportunity to meet like-minded people with a common goal – raising funds in a challenging environment and trying to make a difference through fund raising and work at the school. I was motivated after years of arm chair support for Springboard and the desire to move to the next level. The money raised will continue to ensure Springboard receives the support it needs.”
The trek also offered the opportunity for two Springboard beneficiaries to join the once in a lifetime experience. Holly, who took part in the Diageo Learning for Life programme and was employed by Handpicked Hotels, said: “My trip to Nepal was a once in a lifetime opportunity and experience. I met so many lovely people during our time there and learned so much about their culture and community. The whole trip was a highlight, but the most rewarding part was rebuilding the primary school. The trip was all about giving back to the people in Nepal and people like me in the UK. I know first-hand what an amazing job Springboard do and I now live a happy and settled life with my young daughter. I can't thank Springboard enough!”
Following the trek, Anne Pierce, CEO of Springboard, commented: “Springboard’s 2017 expedition to Nepal saw 30 intrepid trekkers from across the industry embark on a gruelling five day trek through the Mahalangur Mountains in Nepal – encountering all weathers from bright sunshine to snow, thunder storms to thick fog and wilderness camping on route. The destination was the Manju Shree School, which had been devastated by an earthquake in 2015; the purpose was twofold – first, to help rebuild the school and provide them with educational and sporting resources, with only the local primitive tools to help; and second, to raise funds to support at least 70 more disadvantaged young people in the UK through Springboard programmes to help them overcome their challenges and move into sustainable work.”
“The challenge extends people – often beyond their comfort zones - whether that’s pre-trek training, fund raising, camping, battling the weather, trudging up mountains in high altitude, or working out how to build a fence with no instructions or modern equipment, with the nearest shop a three hour trek away – or the sheer emotion of seeing how communities live in one of the poorest countries in the world. It’s almost impossible to describe the impact that the whole trip has on the group, the community in Nepal, the beneficiaries here in the UK and on The Springboard Charity. So far the money raised has been phenomenal - it has already made a real and lasting difference in Nepal, and it will really make a difference here in the UK. It was a privilege to lead such a fantastic group who really rose to the challenge. We are indebted to the many companies and sponsors who supported the cause. Here’s to the next one!”
This was a once in a lifetime experience to the trekkers who have made a difference to people’s lives. So far, the trekkers have fund raised £108,000. The fund raising target is £135,000 and funds are still coming in. The trek took place 9th – 21st March 2017.
