Supporting those who teach
We provide teachers in schools and colleges with online materials, creative ideas and challenges that increase student engagement and match the food/food-related curricula across the UK. We also offer careers presentations and advice to show how varied and exciting a career in the hospitality, leisure and tourism can be.
For universtity lecturers and course leaders we have a unique programme to help guide and steer undergraduates of hospitality/hospitality-related degree courses in to the industry, offering mentoring and guest lectures from experienced industry champions and helping securing invaluable work experience.
Connecting schools, colleges and universities and industry
Springboard and its team of Programme Managers have built a vast nework of great employers at a national and local level. The relationships we have created and nuture enables us to connect those teachers, lecturers and careers advisors with these companies and some of the most amazing people who work in the industry.
This gives students opportunities a whole range of ‘real world’ experiences such as ‘taster days,’ in-school chef demonstrations, challenges, careers presentations and mentoring.
Aswell as the volunteers who give up their time for these activities, we’ve also trained 1,000 Springboard Ambassadors who regularly help promote the sector and provide careers advice.
All of these people want to help young people achieve sucesss in the industry they are passionate about.

The GEMS programme works with universities across the country to connect students on hospitality related undergraduate courses with our network of industry professionals, helping to prepare them for successful careers in the industry following their graduation.
FutureChef is Springboard’s flagship educational programme, consisting of a nationwide schools programme extending throughout the year, serving the Gatsby benchmarks, as well as a cooking competition open to 12-16 year olds.
FAB is Springboard’s secondary schools education programme focussed on demonstrating the skills required for Front of House roles and inspiring students to consider careers in this area. The scheme offers a range of interactive resources which have been designed to support the core curriculum subjects as well as business studies.
