I started my career at Ed’s Easy Diner in July 2013 as a grill chef. I was trained to Ed’s Standards to produce high quality food within the kitchen. After working hard and establishing myself as a leading member of the kitchen team I was asked to assist with new diner openings both training prior to opening and supporting during the opening week. This entailed training new grill chefs to a high standard as well as coaching them during service.
My confidence grew with each open I was involved with and I realised that this was something I’d like to do as a career. I’m now a kitchen trainer for Ed’s, traveling around the country to train and support chefs in both new and existing diners, ensuring with the use of training materials and audits that they are all complying with company standards. I love my job.
The British Hospitality Association’s (BHA) national campaign The Big Hospitality Conversation yesterday teamed up with Tottenham Hotspur Foundation to generate over 2,000 job opportunities, work placements and apprenticeships in the hospitality sector for 16-24 year old Haringey residents.
Apologies for the late posting of last week’s blog. We were out most of last week at the Hospitality Show running the student centre which meant a lot of early starts for us!
